Player Assessment T.I.P.S.
The professional player assessment
Whether we're watching your match live, analysing full-match footage or working with you in person, our experienced scouts and coaches assess your performance using The Academy Insider's T.I.P.S. framework.
Developed around professional football scouting principles, our assessments consider the technical, tactical, behavioural and physical qualities relevant to your age, position and stage of development.
Every player receives individual feedback designed to identify strengths, highlight development priorities and provide a clear direction for improvement.
I
Insight
Your understanding of the game, including awareness, positioning, decision-making and tactical intelligence.
P
Personality
Your observable on-field behaviours, including communication, attitude, resilience, leadership and response to challenges.
S
Speed
Your physical and football-specific speed, including acceleration, movement, reactions and speed of play.
Every assessment is position-specific and age-appropriate — a goalkeeper, centre-back and winger are each judged against the demands of their own role and age group.

Demonstrating strong potential for structured, high-performance coaching and development, with opportunities to progress towards higher-level football environments.

How the score is calculated
Each observed attribute within Technique, Insight, Personality and Speed is graded 1–5 against age- and position-appropriate criteria. Each pillar becomes a score out of 100, and your Insider Score is the equal-weighted average of all four. Attributes we couldn't observe are never counted against you, and a pillar needs at least three observed attributes before it is scored.
Beyond the match — physical performance
Where included in your assessment programme, our qualified staff can evaluate relevant physical performance characteristics, including sprinting mechanics, acceleration and football-specific fitness.
These assessments can help identify opportunities to improve movement efficiency, physical preparation and performance.
Physical testing is only available where appropriate to the selected service, facilities and qualified staff. Video Scouting does not include in-person fitness testing.
